持续写作,不断修改

最近写了一篇某产品的体验文章发到公众号,但我对这篇文章并不算满意,感觉并没有把我想要表达的说清楚,写的也稍显冗长。

后来又改写了一版发了少数派,最后又修改了一版发到我的个人博客,感觉基本把我想要表达的说清楚了。

写作是一种向内的、刻意思考的过程。改写的目的是要挖掘自己真正要表达的最重要的那部分。持续地写作,不断地修改,也是提升写作水平的一种「刻意练习」吧。

Paul Graham 在「Putting Ideas into Words」一文开头便写到:

Putting ideas into words is a severe test. The first words you choose are usually wrong; you have to rewrite sentences over and over to get them exactly right. And your ideas won't just be imprecise, but incomplete too. Half the ideas that end up in an essay will be ones you thought of while you were writing it. Indeed, that's why I write them.

把想法转化为文字是一项严峻的考验。你选择的第一个词通常是错误的,你必须一遍又一遍地重写句子才能让它们完全正确。你的想法不仅会不准确,而且也会不完整。文章中最终出现的一半想法将是你在撰写文章时想到的想法。事实上,这就是我写它们的原因。
